Thank you Mrs. Moore and your wonderful 1st grade team.

We learned so much working with you and your students!

We love our ATU alum :-)

  1. This visit was such a valuable learning experience. We have learned about DIBELS and DRAs in our classes and have tried to simulate them with our peers, but it was so much more helpful to administer them with an actual student. I was grateful that we got to watch Mrs. Moore do them with a student before we worked with a student ourselves. I cannot put into words how much this helped my understanding! Being able to do things like this in the field make our classes so much more relevant and really motivate us to learn. I also enjoyed seeing each of the classrooms and how different they were. I loved the bunk bed in Mrs. Moore's room and how you could really see the personality of each teacher through her room. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dardanelle for this experience!

  2. Thank you so much for allowing us in your classrooms. I cannot express my gratitude to all of you enough. I was in Mrs. Childress classroom. She, along with all of the other teachers were so helpful about showing us how DRA's and DIBLES are administrated. Annebel and I were able to administer a DIBLES test over nonsense words with two students. We have done similar tests with one another in our classes, but administrating it to a actual student was eye-opening. I am able to take this experience with me as I prepare to enter my internship and first year teaching. Thank you all so much again!

  3. I am so thankful that we got to come to your school and learn about DRA's and Diebels. I really enjoyed getting to actually see how these things work in an actual classroom instead of just having to pretend in our college classes. I felt like I really learned a lot. This experience opened my eyes and made these topics a thousand times more clear. Again, I am so thankful to have had an opportunity to come into your school and learn such important things from all of you. Thank you for the experience!

  4. Thank you so much for allowing us to come and visit. I loved how we got to do the hands-on activities with the students with the DRAS and DIBELS. Now I have a much better sense on how to administer them to the actual student. It made me more than excited to become a teacher in a few short months. And again thank you for this opportunity. It was very beneficial for my future career as an educator!

  5. Thank you for allowing us to come into your classrooms. I am very thankful for the hands-on experience of actually administering the DIEBELS and DRA. In class we have discussed it but actually having the opportunity to do it was much more beneficial and gave me a better visual on what I will be required to do in my future classroom. Thank you again for the experience!

  6. I am so thankful that you all allowed us in your classrooms. I learned so much working with Mrs. Childress classroom, I've worked on Dibels and DRA's in our classroom at Arkansas Tech University, but it was a completely different experience working with them in your classrooms. Haley and I had the opportunity presented by Mrs. Childress to work with two of her students and administer DRA's to them! It was an awesome experience, and I value the opportunities given and will carry this experience on with me into my internship next semester! Thanks once again!

  7. Thank you all so much for allowing us to come into your classrooms. It's teachers like you that help prepare us future teachers for the real deal. I learned so much getting to actually administer the test myself. I believe getting hands on learning like this is the best way to learn! Thank you again, I loved being in your school!

  8. I really enjoyed our visit to Dardanelle Primary. Thank you so much for allowing us to come into your classrooms! I felt that actually getting to administer the DIBELS and the DRA tests myself provided me with a greater experience than just learning about them in the classroom. Getting that hands on experience is an invaluable tool for the future, that will eventually be put into practice in my own classroom. I got to work in Mrs. Avila's classroom, who is also my observation teacher this semester. So i was familiar with the students in the classroom and their reading levels. I thought this helped me in administering the tests, having some of that background knowledge on the students. I got to administer a DRA, DIBELS fluency test, and the DIBELS nonsense words test. All of those will be beneficial in the future and i wanted to thank you so much for opening your classrooms up to us and allowing us to gain this knowledge and experience!

  9. Thank you so much for letting us come into your school and classrooms to learn more about DRA and DIBELS. I learned a variety of things from my teacher. I thought it was awesome how thorough she explained to me about how DIBELS and DRA are used, how often they are used, and why they are used. Also, she did an example in front of me which was very helpful. Another thing I found helpful, was that she explained all the different types of DIBELS. Thank you again for letting us come visit!

  11. Thank you for welcoming us into your classrooms. I enjoyed watching DRA and Dibbles be used and learned a lot from this experience. Getting to see these two reading evaluation first hand provides me with more information on what I will be doing in my own classroom. I learned much more in the short time there that is helpful to my career! Thank you again!
